Buchan House Cottage,Strichen,Aberdeenshire

Buchan House Cottage is situated in the grounds of an old Georgian manse, now known as Buchan House. It has its own drive and parking close to the cottage and is completely private from Buchan House, although you will have a view of the hens and ducks which we have in the grounds - they produce some lovely eggs if you want to try them!!

Buchan House cottage is situated around half a mile from Strichen which can easily be walked along footpaths taking you through the community park passed the lakes where a pair of swans regularly nest. The Formartine and Buchan Railway passes close to the park - it was closed to railway traffic in the 1960's but is now open for walking and cycling. Strichen is a quiet village with a few pubs, two of which serve food, a good butcher, a baker and tea shop, a chemist and a couple of local village type supermarkets, one of which is also the petrol filling station. Strichen is handy both for the countryside and for the Moray coast, Pennan, Crovie and Gardenstown being within 20 to 25 minutes drive.
